Nov 6, 2023, Sale of Carbon Engineering to Occidental Petroleum at CAD$2.1 Billion valuation completed. WUTIF is now offering share redemptions and rollovers to shareholders.

Sep 27, 2023, WUTIF held its 20th Annual General Meeting in Person. 68.7% of outstanding shares were voted in favour of all resolutions.

Sep 15, 2023, WUTIF is offering shares at $27.00 per share until December 31, 2023. These shares qualify for the 30% refundable tax credit. Up to 58,500 shares are available.

Aug 16, 2023, Occidental (NYSE: OXY) will acquire the ~68% of Carbon Engineering’s equity not already owned by it for total cash consideration of approximately US$1.1 billion. This represents US$329 per share to be made in three annual payments.

Feb 10, 2023, GuardRFID, a company in which WUTIF invested $102K almost 15 years ago, is being acquired by HID Global for $8.5M which will result in a payout of approximately $360K.

Jan 16, 2023, WUTIF receives a 2023 tax credit allocation allowing us to raise $2 million against which we can issue 30% redeemable tax credits.

Feb 28, 2023, WUTIF closes $1,045,071 in new share subscriptions at $27/share from Nov 2022 to Feb 2023.

Sep 29, 2022, WUTIF held its 19th Annual General Meeting via zoom. 75.3% of outstanding shares were voted in favour of all resolutions.

Feb 28, 2022, WUTIF closes $3,428,275 in new share subscriptions at $25/share in January & February 2022.

Sept 8, 2021, WUTIF Investee, Redlen Technologies Inc., a Victoria-based X-ray imaging company, is acquired by Canon Inc at a valuation of US$335M.

June 11, 2021, WUTIF closed its May 2021 offering of shares raising $1.6M in new capital for investing in startups.  WUTIF’s target for this raise was $920K which was substantially exceeded. Shares were offered to accredited investors  for $23/share.

Mar 15, 2021, Veracyte, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCYT) announced it has completed its USD$600M cash acquisition of Decipher Biosciences, Inc. of San Diego to further solidify its global leadership in genomic diagnostics. Decipher, formerly named GenomeDx was founded in Vancouver BC. Bruce Schmidt, a WUTIF director, was a co-founder.

Feb 9, 2021, WUTIF’s Investee, Tantalus Systems Holding Inc, begins trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker symbol GRID as a result of a reverse takeover by Risetech Capital.

Jan 4, 2021, WUTIF announces first half of fiscal year 2021 financial results reporting a net profit of $814K as a result of four liquidity events.

Dec 31, 2020, WUTIF completes share redemptions and closes a private placement for $1.8M at $22.00 per share.

Nov 19, 2020, WUTIF Investee, Moore & Gaspercz (dba ehsAI) is acquired by Intelex resulting in an immediate payout of 3 times our investment of $130K made 11 months earlier for an annualized return of 272%. Additional proceeds may be realized depending on holdbacks.

Nov 2, 2020, WUTIF announces share redemptions and new investment offering at $22.00 per share for which 30% refundable tax credits are available.

Oct 31, 2020, WUTIF Investee, Clevest Solutions Inc. is acquired by Swedish Firm, IFS Holdings resulting in a total payout of $600K on an investment of $100K.

July 16, 2020, WUTIF Investee, Aquatic Informatics is acquired by Danaher Corp (US) resulting in a total payout of $815K on an investment of $109K.

Sep 30, 2019, WUTIF wins lawsuit against Mazza Innovations for not honouring its seed round liquidation preference thereby receiving an additional $150K in proceeds.

July 26, 2019, WUTIF Investee, Ecotagious Inc is acquired by Simple Energy Inc (USA) for US$12.5 million. WUTIF’s payout is $306K on two investments of $50K – in under 3 years.

March 13, 2019 WUTIF Investee Company, Neurio Inc. (formerly Energy Aware Inc.), is acquired by Generac Holdings (NYSE:GNRC). WUTIF was one of the early investors in Neurio in 2007. The impact on WUTIF’s share value is substantial.  WUTIF will realize proceeds in excess of $3 million for the sale of its shares in Neurio. Check the News Release from Generac.
